glass is my downfall. I love it: things in glass, behind glass, under glass. I recall a fascination with a cheese dome my mom had (somehow it didn't make the trip with us to tropical japan — hmm don't know why), and the idea that something like cheese could and should be displayed. it's amazing that something so primitive — it's just melty sand, after all — continues to be so fundamentally useful and so beautiful. progression of this logic: pottery and ceramic are just dirt and glass. it's fascinating, I say.
